Rules of the run
You run forward and pick gates that change your numbers. The right gate raises income and firepower; the wrong one costs you. At the end of each level you must break through monsters.
Between rounds you upgrade the weapon. Firepower grows every round, so the choices you make in gates carry forward.
Read the gate values before you move toward one.
